The aim of the proposal was to extend the time - coverage of the SOHO/MDI space - borne sunspot database for the post - SOHO era by continuing the work on the HMI images of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and by ensuring homogeneity between the two materials and also with ground-based datasets.
SOTERIA aimed at creating a wide synergy in the fields of solar-space and geo-physics among different centers in a number of European countries to achieve a higher level of quality and accessibility for the observational data and for the models. Our goal was to help creating the basis for a deeper understanding of solar and space processes having terrestrial impact. The Debrecen Observatory was the lead of Work Package 2 (Photosphere)
